Omniture integrates web analytics with online marketing applications

Omniture has released a new "plug and play" product that is designed to automate the integration of web marketing applications into its web analytics tool.

The firm said that until now, online marketing measurement has been inconsistent and hard to compare and said that the new product would change this by allowing marketers access to pre-configured wizards for more than 30 applications, letting them integrate their marketing environment into one standard view.

Among the accredited launch application partners for the service are search engines Google and Yahoo! as well as numerous behavioural targeting and email marketing firms.

CEO and co-founder of Omniture Josh James said: "The era of web 2.0 has changed the rules of marketing and new ways of engaging customers and enriching their experience are now critical for business success.

"Companies are realising they must integrate their marketing environments much more quickly and easily."

The product will help firms save time spent manually connecting to the programs, consolidate measurement and reporting and target the most meaningful customer segments, Omniture claimed.

Commentator Jason Burby of web consultancy ZAAZ told ClickZ.com that the idea behind the new product "helps satisfy a longstanding frustration" as web analytics data "becomes more valuable when integrated with other insight".
