Internet marketers use blogs for B2B
Online marketers are using blogs and other web 2.0 applications for business to business (B2B) promotion, according to new research.
Podcasts are also being utilised as the new generation of web 2.0 marketing takes hold, a report by Direct Impact Marketing and Buzz Marketing for Technology has found.
According to the poll, 64 per cent of marketers are using blogs and 58 per cent use RSS feeds. Podcasts and videocasts were the next most popular tools with 54 and 43 per cent of respondents using them respectively.
Social networks have been used by 42 per cent of online marketing professionals while only 19 per cent have exploited wikis. The poll found that small marketing companies were more likely to use these tools then bigger firms.
Web 2.0 has prompted a marketing revolution and these statistics are just the latest in a long line of internet development successes since these applications became available to use.
BT Business revealed last week that half of all small businesses in the UK do not have a dedicated company website, even though 52 per cent of businesses with less than 50 employees use the internet as their main marketing tool.
