Cedar to boost web presence

Publishing group Cedar has announced that it is to expand its online presence and offer more content over the internet.

The firm, which publishes customer magazines for groups such as British Airways and Tesco, said that boosting its online presence is "fundamental" to the future of the firm.

Cedar recently announced a link-up with web agency Reactive aimed at growing its website, with a view to publishing copy on the internet that complements its print media.

Lori Miles, editor-in-chief at Cedar, told the Press Gazette: "It is absolutely fundamental to Cedar's future because all the clients expect an online presence.

"What we'll have to do is make sure those web pages are editorially driven - a thing of beauty."

She added that the firm is currently addressing how the content can differ from publications such as its BA magazine High Life, as well as the parent site BA.com.

Cedar hopes the deal with Reactive will enable it to become a leader in generating online advertising revenue in the contract publishing sector.

Most of its magazines have now been made available online, while it recently launched its first ever internet-only magazine for Bank of Scotland Corporate, entitled 42 Degrees.
